- ThreeAngelsResin#2 reverse side
This is the glossy "reverse" side of this bas relief cast, taken while it was still in the white silicone mold. When released, this cast could be displayed to be viewed from both sides. - Three Angels: The Meditation Made Clear
This is the second cast in clear resin, and the third cast made of my original paperclay on board bas relief "Three Angels". Each cast is pigmented differently, and the first cast is heavy opaque plaster. Dimensions: 24" x 19" - FullResinCast#1 After Detailing
The Mediation, Dimensions: 24" x 18" Cast resin with pigment, second of a limited edition cast, where each cast is uniquely tinted and manipulated and/or in very different materials. This artwork has its origin story told in the description of my bas relief sculpture "Three Angels". I find as I make casts from this work now, two years later, I have new stories. Two figures are face to face, and the center figure stands back, clearly less involved. Perhaps she is a mediator in this dispute? The figures evoke the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades, with a representative of Demeter as the center figure. There are so many possible stories here. This version of "The Mediation" is the second cast from a silicone mold. It is very different from the first heavy plaster cast. This is clear resin, which gives a very different result! I rubbed selected opaque pigments into the mold before pouring the resin, then completed the work after I removed this piece from the mold. Note that I do every step of the mold and cast making myself, using my own original works.
