The two sheets of paper have been bonded and mounted onto the gessoed board with matte medium, and a few enhancements have been made to the color and details. But is it finished?

I am working in very delicate layers of paper here: maybe this will catch some light. This has two such layers, BUT not bonded together yet, so this is strictly a transient view! Here is the bottom layer scanned by itself.

Here I start working the space between the curly twig tangles before the twigs… and Voila! A creature appears!

Scanning gives me more control and higher resolution than a photo, but… my scanner is limited to 12″ x 17″. This piece is 18″ x 24″. So multiple scans, and much care with exact alignment is required. Even so, I have settled for 3, rather than the 6 scans required for the full image. I…

Thinking of 1000 gold leaves racing toward me… This piece became over simplified and lost the magic as I “finished” and tidied it up. So it needed a great deal of rework. I hope the tangle magic is coming back, along with a bit more finish and complexity.
