This is not going as planned, but no surprise there 🙂 Consistent inking is a problem, and I am sure there is some small variations in the thickness of my four plates; in fact two plates have thicker edges. At this point I am not sure I like anything about these prints, but things will change!
Things are starting to get interesting…

Just wishing that …
Yesterday and today I am regretful, wishing that I had signed up for a Seattle TK “30 Day Art Challenge. For this challenge the artist enrolls, pays, and receives 30 8″x10” canvas boards which must be completed & returned in 30 days to be exhibited at December ArtWalk.
I decided not to enter this challenge due to my current stress level, and current commitments to family and friends. But on another level, I feel so ready for this challenge. I could do it! And it would be fun, exciting, etc.
Realistically meeting this challenge would require a time commitment that I do not want to make just now. I am too enmeshed in other things, some (but not all) of my own choosing, of course. Unfortunately some of these things are painful, and it is difficult not to be resentful.
I don’t need more stress in my life at the moment, and I fear that my other commitments would turn a fun challenge into painful stress! Perhaps next year I will be able to take the plunge with fewer conflicts, but of course the fear is that there will always be other commitments and time conflicts!
From Corvidae print shop, plus …
You never know when you will need an older image: this is mix & match time!
Loving mixed media! I could go for a 5 year school/apprenticeship to learn how to do what I want in one difficult technique, OR I can do exactly what I want/need/and already know how to do to get the end result I want! At my age, the choice is an easy one!
An Artistic Record of some Art …
I am using a handy craft kit (from Arnold Grummer) to make “zig zag” accordian fold books that document some artwork completed over the past 2-3 years. I have just finished my first book, Twig Tangles, creating two copies, documenting my Tangled Twigs series of mixed media works.
I purchased a kit for 12 books, so I plan to design 3 or 4 different books, and print extra copies of each. There are 10 pages per book, on the front & back sides of a 5.5″ by 24″ strip of lightweight pre-folded cardstock, and I am pleased that I can feed this strip (carefully) through my printer.
The front & back book covers provide additional blank space for art: a template is provided to help you create covers for the 24 stiff cardboard rectangles provided in the kit.
The last photo is of an altered book carved & glued to make a box, containing three tiny books printed with images of older drawings.

Too much (family) stuff for much art
Notes: this piece started as two monotone prints from linoleum cut plates with one continuous design. The hands and all color are added later to the joined prints using colored pencil. This was then scanned, digitally modified to somewhat disguise the join, and the color has been somewhat adjusted.
