Notes: this piece started as two monotone prints from linoleum cut plates with one continuous design.The hands and all color are added later to the joined prints using colored pencil. This was then scanned, digitally modified to somewhat disguise the join, and the color has been somewhat adjusted.

Another evolution: sequence of stages of…
Twig Tangles VII from start to finish: it has two full size layers, plus later collage additions. As you can see, things changed! I thought it was complete, and even exhibited it, with the “insect” in the center… but it bothered me too much. After the show, I needed to work on it some more, and I used pieces of two brayer work prints to finish this: the mysterious egg and the red leaf are the late collage additions, and I also tweaked a loop of one twig to fade it back (hard to see in the reduced size online images).
Sorry that the WordPress Gallery full size images are in the wrong order. I don’t think I can re-order these without starting over and uploading each in the order desired (and I am too lazy for that today!)

Took down my exhibit at 1012 Coffee Bar yesterday, and now have 2 or 3 pieces from that show that have been bothering me: they need a little more work! So I (think I) finished one yesterday: it pleases me now, and may really be finished:
The “egg” used to hold an awkward looking fantasy insect, but now it is a egg about to open… and the red leaf adds a bright focus that still keeps the tangled circle… I hope. As it was:
