Conversation in My Garden
Sculpture Lab
Sculpture Park
The fourth work in my Conversation series, which are small figure groupings, was initially called Shell Game. But it was bothering me: it just did not satisfy me. Something was wrong, it was empty in the center, and I did not like it.
Now it has a brand new title: Conversation IV: Sculpture Park.
It turns out that this piece is not a game piece at all. Rather this Conversation is set in a sculpture park! Changes have been made, and I think it is almost there. It is much more pleasing to me now, and I am nearly ready to permanently install the egg sculpture in the center, and to add a few final details.
I think this piece can still be out of doors, but should be installed with overhead shelter. It will be best kept mostly dry and out of the noon day sun, if the painted details are to last at all.

Figures at Last
Mouse Box
This is quick experiment with a hollow SculptaMold project, made by working over crumpled newspaper (later removed). I added rigid plastic under the delicate tail, then used this to close the opening underneath with a hinged flap. So this mouse became a rather makeshift box, and a Christmas present for Fionna.
Humorous Assembly
First Man Standing
First full figure cast. The mold for this was made over a pieced together figure: a head & torso in plaster from a previous “thick figure” cast, then carved/modified & joined to clay legs. I used brush on latex, and a 4 part “Sculptamold” mother mold (took ages to dry, not a good choice of material). Now I have my first complete concrete figure with cast legs. Previous figures had metal bolt legs that I then wrapped with cement fabric, etc.
